Astronauts Leave “Microbial Fingerprint” on Space Station

A study shows that microorganisms living on surfaces inside the space station closely resembled those on the skin of the astronaut participating in the research. And they lingered even months after that person returned to Earth. Understanding the interplay between microbes and crew is important for health and safety on future human space missions.
