Chicago, IL (Law Firm Newswire) April 15, 2020 – In what police are calling a major pile-up, close to 60 vehicles were involved in crashes on the Kennedy Expressway near North Avenue in Chicago this morning. First responders started arriving at the scene about 5:45 a.m. with the first on scene the Chicago Fire Department.

Overnight weather conditions, which included snow and ice resulted in low traction on the Expressway that resulted in multiple vehicle collisions.

All inbound lanes were shut down to allow the emergency crews to do their job. Chicago and area drivers are cautioned to not use the Kennedy Expressway this morning. Additionally, police are warning motorists to be alert and aware of slippery roads around the city no matter what route they have chosen to take to get to their destinations.
