Zephyrhills Crash Causes Three Fatalities

Jul 1, 2019

Tampa, FL (Law Firm Newswire) July 01, 2019 – As reported by the Florida Highway Patrol, two vehicles were involved in a collision that left three people dead and two seriously injured. The crash occurred on County Road 54 and involved a head-on collision between a Mazda and a Toyota Camry.

The impact happened when the driver of the Mazda attempted to pass traffic by pulling into the oncoming lane. It was at this point he hit the Camry head on, causing each vehicle to spin off the road.

The driver of the Mazda was thrown from his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Camry and his front seat passenger were also killed in the accident. Two other passengers, an 11-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl were also injured and transported to the nearest hospital via ambulance.

It has been reported that this section of County Road 54 is a place of many accidents due to drivers exceeding the speed limit while attempting to pass slower traffic. Many residents believe that this section of County Road 54 should be patrolled more frequently by the Florida Highway Patrol in order to prevent some of the car crashes that occur.

Florida accident lawyer Robert T. Joyce, Esquire commented, “Accidents such as this horrendous collision can be prevented if people drive defensively and follow the rules of the road.”
