Man’s Boyfriend Witnesses His Death on Highway

Jul 7, 2016

Austin, TX (Law Firm Newswire) July 7, 2016 – It was yet another drunk driving accident that took the life of Dickinson resident 43-year-old Troy McNeil on Bay Area Boulevard.

Mr. McNeil and his long-time partner were heading south on the Gulf Freeway. Their vehicle, a Dodge Durango, was sideswiped and whipped out onto the highway. McNeil and his partner were hit by another vehicle.

Both McNeil and his partner were alive and not badly hurt at that point. However, when McNeil climbed out of the Durango to check on the damage, a Toyota Camry driven by Saul Arrendondo hit him. Arrendondo was subsequently charged with DWI. Police indicated that there would be further charges laid once the investigation of the accident was complete.

McNeil’s partner, J.R. Guajardo witnessed his death.

“This accident was extremely shocking for everyone involved, but more so for Mr. Guarjardo. It’s devastating to watch someone you love die right in front of you,” said wrongful death and plaintiff’s DWI attorney Bobby Lee. Lee is a lawyer at Lee, Gober & Reyna law firm in Austin.

Lee, Gober & Reyna are plaintiff’s attorneys in actions that involve DWI and other personal injury cases. “We have handled many DWI cases and have the kind of experience you would need to seek compensation for your injuries and a fair and equitable award,” Lee added.
Texas has an unenviable reputation for being one of the worst states in the U.S. for drunk driving deaths and i

njuries. In fact, 13,138 people were killed in drunk driving crashes between 2003 and 2012. “Considering that drinking and driving is a choice, it’s frightening to think how careless, reckless and thoughtless those who drive while under the influence are when the other choice is to not drink and drive and still be alive.”

  • Texas ranks second to Florida in boating fatalities and accidents
Why does Texas rank second to Florida for boating accidents and fatalities? It’s the weather. Mild seasons are a magnet for boating enthusiasts, and lately with all the extra rain, school being out, and the opening of boating season Texas waterways are going to be particularly crowded. It is now that boaters need to be even more cautious and to adhere to safe boating rules and regulations. Consider the disturbing Memorial Day boating accidents statistics from 2014: seven drowning deaths, and 21 boating accidents (including four fatalities). During that Memorial Day weekend 31 were arrested for boating while under the […]
  • There Are Two Types of Vaginal Mesh Removal Surgeries
For those who have had a vaginal mesh implant to assist with pelvic organ prolapse, there are two kinds of vaginal mesh removal surgeries. The U.S. National Library of Medicine outlines several types of surgeries for differing situations. While it is perhaps comforting to know there are various operations to excise the mesh, the pain and discomfort may still not be alleviated by removal or partial removal. In cases where there is limited exposure and the symptoms are not debilitating, a partial removal is possible. In more serious cases that involve the bowel or bladder, the mesh must be painstakingly […]
  • Sex while driving is not a good idea
There are a number of ways to get into a car accident while driving, but sex is likely one of them that police do not see too often – but did in this case. A Houston man was recently handed a citation for causing a wreck while having sex. It was an awkward situation to explain to responding law enforcement personnel, but the male driver attempted to offer them a story to explain what happened. He indicated he had just picked up a lady friend of his and suddenly a man hopped into the back seat of his vehicle. Allegedly […]
  • It’s a no brainer, texting or talking while driving can kill
Just about everyone knows it is not safe to text and drive. It’s just like drinking and driving. That is against the law and can kill not just you, but others. It’s a very clear message and yet people still continue to drink and drive and text and drive. Officials at the Department of Public Safety say one of the top reasons for fatal crashes is distracted driving. Texas is trying to do something about it by amping up their Talk. Text. Crash. campaign. Although education is a key component in this drive to inform people of the dangers of […]
  • March 6, 2016 Corpus Christie boating accident cause released
Boating accidents are far more common than one would think and disturbingly, they are caused by inattention to basic safe boating rules — rules that could save people’s lives. Take for instance the terrible accident that happened on Corpus Christi Bay on March 6, 2016. A report into that accident by Texas Parks and Wildlife investigators revealed there were far too many people on board and they were not using life jackets in a proper manner. Investigators discovered that the children on board were not wearing life jackets. The jackets were instead put on after the boat capsized. There were […]
