Hazen Elder Law is Now Hazen Law Group

Harrisburg, PA (Law Firm Newswire) December 7, 2015 – The Harrisburg Pennsylvania law firm, Hazen Elder Law is now Hazen Law Group; a law firm that focuses on long-term care planning, guardianships, estate planning, asset protection, special needs planning and public benefits. The firm was founded by Marielle F. Hazen, and is considered to be one of the best law firms in the nation by U.S. News and World Report. The new name represents the firm’s growing portfolio of services that fall outside of “elder law” such as special needs planning and trusts and veterans’ benefits.

Among the services they provide are Medicaid and asset protection planning, estate and tax planning, wills and trusts, special needs planning, guardianships, disability planning, and review of contracts regarding nursing homes, assisted living, and continuing care communities. Ms. Hazen is dedicated to safeguarding the interests, and advocating on behalf, of seniors, individuals with disabilities and their families.

According to Ms. Hazen, “At Hazen Law Group, we focus our practice on estate, elder care, and disability planning services. As leaders in this field, we are able to provide our clients with expert advice. We’ve changed the firm name to reflect that we work with clients of all ages to address their planning needs and provide them with the peace of mind of knowing the best possible planning is in place.”

She has earned the distinction of being a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) by the National Elder Law Foundation, and is a Past President and founding member of the Pennsylvania Association of Elder Law Attorneys (PAELA) and a Past President and member of the Board of Directors of the Special Needs Alliance (SNA), a national nonprofit organization of attorneys dedicated to disability and public benefits law. She is admitted to practice before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. She has also received accreditation by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs to prepare, present, and prosecute claims to secure benefits for veterans.

In 2014, Ms. Hazen was presented with the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys’ Powley Award. This national award is presented to an attorney who has demonstrated a commitment to promote a greater understanding of the needs of the elderly and people with special needs. She has also instructed the Apprise Coordinators concerning long-term care legal matters and received an appointment as Delegate to Pennsylvania’s Quality at End of Life Symposium. She was recognized by her associates as a “Super Lawyer” in the area of elder law.

Linda J. Olsen, Esq. is an associate at Hazen Law Group, and focuses on the areas of estate planning, estate administration, and veterans’ benefits.
