Woman Killed and Two Injured After Drinking and Driving Reports New Hampshire Injury Lawyer

May 26, 2011

Keene, NH (Law Firm Newswire) May 26, 2011 – This case was tragic and involved the needless death of a young woman as the result of drinking and driving.

“It’s been reported that there were three people in a car when it went off a road and landed, hard, on rocks and sand at Wallis Sands Park, New Hampshire, just recently. The three had been out drinking and enjoying themselves. Unfortunately, the passengers let the driver, a young woman friend of theirs, drive while under the influence of alcohol. The young woman was killed in this wreck; ejected from the car on landing,” said Charlie Donahue, a New Hampshire personal injury lawyer located in Keene. Donahue handles injury cases in New Hampshire and across the United States.

This loss of life is devastating, not only for the family of the young woman, but for her friends. “The police report outlined that there were several contributing factors to this crash: alcohol, speed and the driver and front seat passenger were not wearing seat belts. Despite that fact, the two passengers did survive the accident, albeit with minor to serious injuries,” Donahue said.

Accident photos recorded the presence of a large number of alcohol containers in the vehicle. It was quite clear at the scene that the car missed making a crucial turn and skidded off the road. When EMS crews arrived, the driver was alive. She was flown to the nearest hospital, but died on arrival. The front seat passenger was hurt very badly and also hospitalized.

“Since the back seat passenger did have a seat belt on, he came out of the crash with minor injuries and was able to call 911,” Donahue said. “Although he may have a claim, it may be diminished because he chose to ride with an impaired driver.”

Given the circumstances of this crash, there is at least one individual, the front seat passenger, who will likely wish to talk to a New Hampshire injury lawyer about his or her injuries. He will likely not be able to deal with his medical expenses on his own and his life may have been radically altered as a result of this accident. Of course, there are more things that he may claim for, should he choose to file a personal injury lawsuit. These things will be outlined by his attorney. Even with health or other insurance, he may not be able to pay for his recovery, return to work or be able to work ever again.

“This is where a New Hampshire injury lawyer would come in,” Donahue said. “A tough attorney with years of experience, with cases just like this; one whose heart is in the right place and knows how badly the victim needs restitution to carry on, particularly if they were left disabled.”

“I strongly urge you not to wait to call a competent personal injury lawyer if you have been involved in a drunk driving accident. Every minute counts to preserve evidence. Every medical record is crucial to the outcome of the case. Every picture or piece of evidence is central to your case. Everything a lawyer does for you after your initial call, will ensure justice and a fair and equitable outcome,” Donahue said.
