New Mother Dies From Sepsis As the Result of Acute Pelvic Perineal Infection

Oct 17, 2017

Southfield, MI (Law Firm Newswire) October 17, 2017 – A 27-year-old woman died after giving birth. Her family is suing the doctor and the hospital for her wrongful death.

The woman died three days after giving birth to a baby boy. The lawsuit alleges she died as a result of severe and permanent injuries as a result of substandard care provided by medical staff. The lawsuit named three defendants and included two medical facilities and the woman’s obstetrician.

According the lawsuit, after giving birth, the new mother complained of pain. She was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit and given pain medications. However, her white blood count and fever continued to increase. She died a short time later. The suit alleges the cause of death was sepsis arising from an acute pelvic perineal infection.

Wrongful death lawsuits can take years to reach a settlement or make their way through court. In the meantime, plaintiffs still need to pay bills and meet all of their important financial obligations, such as the mortgage payments, car payments or funeral expenses. However, once a claim is filed, families are eligible to access wrongful death litigation funding, a cash advance that helps defray expenses during a pending claim.

Litigation funding representatives work quickly to approve cases for funding, often within 24 hours. The pre-settlement funding process works fast because there is no need for employment verification or a credit check. Additionally, there are zero restrictions on how the money is spent and it is only repaid once the case is resolved – through the courts or otherwise. If the client loses the case, repayment of the funds is completely waived.
