Los Angeles, CA (Law Firm Newswire) April 11, 2017 – John V. Bell, senior trial attorney at the personal injury law firm of J&Y, has recently been accepted into the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).

This honor is further confirmation of John’s fierce advocacy for negligence victims. He continues to be an invaluable member of the team at J&Y, the well-known practice headquartered in Los Angeles and serving all of California.

The American Board of Trial Advocates was founded 60 years ago when the jury system was under attack from all sides. As legislators, judges, scholars, and the press threatened the very existence of the civil jury system, a small group of young lawyers formed ABOTA for two primary reasons: to attain a superior level of trial advocacy and to educate the public about the importance the right to trial by a jury guaranteed by the Seventh Amendment. In 1957, ABOTA was considered not only innovative but revolutionary, by the older members of the legal community.

Now a well-established, highly respected organization, ABOTA is still dedicated to the preservation of the civil jury trial to protect the distribution of “Justice by the People.” John V. Bell’s acceptance into ABOTA is an honor, acknowledging that he displays the “skill, civility and integrity” that are the hallmark of its members.
