Los Angeles, CA (Law Firm Newswire) September 27, 2016 – Stephen Henning, co-founder and senior partner of Wood, Smith, Henning and Berman LLP, is speaking at the 2016 CLM National Construction Claims Conference, the largest construction conference in the nation, on one of the two premier panels. Henning is also serving as the co-chair of the conference, to be held at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, California, September 28-30th.

Henning is moderating the first premier session of the conference, which will closely examine the emerging trends in construction and litigation, and be led by nationally prominent individuals who bring their different perspectives to the discussion. With the advent of technology, labor challenges, procurement issues and increased spikes in litigation in certain jurisdictions, this panel provides direction for all general counsel, risk managers and claim professionals charged with managing exposures from construction nationwide.

Nationally acclaimed speakers representing key stakeholders from the building, broker, and insurance communities are speaking at this widely anticipated session. Joining Henning will be David Cahill, General Counsel from Structure Tone; Sharon Wible, Regional Litigation Counsel for Shea Homes; David Marino, National Construction Practice Leader for Marsh; and Gary Kaplan, National Head of Construction for XL Catlin.

“This panel truly represents some of the brightest minds nationally, each of whom have their finger on the pulse on what is happening in construction from different vantage points,” said Henning. “Collectively, they bring together a wealth of information on developments in the construction industry and how that translates to claims avoidance, mitigation of risk and litigation management.”

Henning is a skilled litigator, nationally recognized for results in complex construction, real estate, business and toxic tort litigation. He regularly represents Fortune 500 companies and preeminent members of the business community, including some of the nation’s largest residential and commercial public and private owners, homebuilders, developers, investors, contractors and lenders. He is also the first defense lawyer awarded the Jerold S. Oliver Award for contribution to the construction-defect community. An AV-rated lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell, for the past ten years he has been selected for inclusion as either a “Rising Star” or “Super Lawyer.”

CLM’s National Construction Conference is the most comprehensive construction claims conference ever produced in the United States. In addition to addressing construction defect claims, conference sessions will address other facets of construction-related claims, including construction site accidents/injuries, coverage issues, subcontractor issues, and new technologies.
